Plan Management is when a provider such as Fun Care Gery supports you to manage funding in your NDIS Plan. These providers are known as Plan Managers.

When you’re an NDIS participant, you are assessed to identify your needs and the support options that are available to meet them. After your eligible programs and level of need are identified, a plan is made together with an NDIS representative, yourself, and any service providers you may designate. This plan will be carried out, reassessed, and amended as necessary through the duration of your participation in the NDIS program.

We undertake the day-to-day administration that comes with a NDIS Plan – receiving invoices from providers, checking them for accuracy, confirming that services are delivered, claiming money from the NDIA, making payments to your providers, and sending you regular updates so that you can see how much you have utilised of your Plan. What Does an NDIS Plan Manager Do?

Your NDIS Plan Manager is responsible for managing your budget and paying invoices from your service providers on your behalf. They can liaise directly with the providers or they can pass the information through you. Your Plan Manager can also provide you with information to help you manage your plan effectively and keep you informed of your spending including issuing monthly spending statements.

Why Choose Plan Management

In amongst the preparation and paperwork for an NDIS plan meeting it can be overlooked how you would like the money to be managed. There are three options NDIS participants can choose from:

1. Self-Managed – participants elect to organise receipts and invoices themselves and access the NDIS portal to make their own claims manually.
2. Agency Managed – Participants elect to have the NDIA manage their funds and pay providers on your behalf. Only providers that are registered with the NDIS can be paid under this method.
3. Plan Managed – Participants nominate an independent provider to take care of provider communications as well as payments.

There can be a significant impact on the supports available to you under the three options and the ability to get the most from your NDIS plan and open your options for the providers that you choose.
